Reports said some 30 rockets were fired at Israel on December 21, by far the largest barrage to target Israel in at least several days. Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades armed wing took credit for the hail of rockets fired at Israel, saying it targeted Tel Aviv. An Israeli airstrike killed four people in the southern city of Rafah, according to the Hamas-led health ministry in Gaza. The UN’s human rights office said it had received allegations that Israeli forces killed at least 11 unarmed Palestinians in the Gaza City. Nine out of 36 health facilities are still partially functioning in Gaza, all based in southern Gaza, as per the World Health Organization. Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz said “Israel will not put up with the threat that Hezbollah poses to the residents of the north”.
