In the past week, thunderstorms, rain, flash floods, and a tornado devastated parts of south-east Queensland.

Heavy rain has eased across south-east Queensland, bringing a reprieve for residents following severe thunderstorms.

Defence force personnel are being deployed to assist with the cleanup, while thousands remain without electricity.

The storms across the region resulted in uprooted trees, crushed roofs, and days without power.

To bolster clean-up efforts, 50 Australian Defence Force personnel will join the hundreds of emergency services and SES workers.
