Watch Teacher Jen review common milestones and see how many gestures your baby can do! Watch for teaching bubbles to let you know when to expect to see each one.
Try to get 16 gestures by 16 months old!
In this research-based episode, Teacher Jen will model speech development from infant to 15 months old, including a focus on vowel sounds for those earlier babbling days.
Throughout the whole video, other key milestones are taught through fun kids songs, nursery rhymes and play! Parents are encouraged to watch with their baby, so they can learn more about their baby’s development and help them interact with Teacher Jen.
Sing many songs with Teacher Jen, including Toe-Knee Chestnut, Hickory Dickory Dock, If you're Happy and you Know it, Rockabye Baby, Pat-a-Cake and even an original peekaboo song!
Teacher Jen brings many of her language teaching strategies from her career as a Behaviour Analyst, and brings them to life in this bright and colourful toddler learning video!
If you have concerns that your child isn’t meeting their milestones, you should tell your pediatrician or family doctor. In BC, the waitlist is long to get services like speech therapy, occupational therapy, or behaviour intervention, but it’s best to get your child help as young as possible.
Recreating the strategies you see here (clear speech, modeling slow mouth movements, supporting language with signs and pointing, repetition of key words) will go a long way towards helping your baby. Interact with your baby, singing, reading, and playing! Bump your baby up and down on a little red wagon!
