Sky News contributor Steve Price says the movement for an Australian republic is “at it again” as a renewed debate heats up among the public.
“The Australian republican movement is – launching a fresh push for – a referendum,” Mr Price said.
Mr Price said he thought the recent proclamation of King Frederik and Queen Mary would have made a “blow” to the movement.
“This debate comes up every few months, and particularly in the lead up to Australia Day, but I haven’t noticed any shift in the public mood.”
Mr Price sat down with Australian Republic Movement National Director Isaac Jeffrey to discuss the renewed call for an Australian republic, away from the Commonwealth.
