Over 40 people were reportedly killed in the latest round of Israeli attacks across the besieged Gaza Strip. The Palestinian foreign ministry alleged Israeli forces carried out “massacres” under the near-total communications blackout in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Israel had destroyed around two-thirds of Hamas's fighting regiments in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu was also seeking “security control over the entire territory west of the Jordan River” . Netanyahu adopted a defiant tone, objecting to any Palestinian statehood that did not guarantee Israel's security.
