Pro-Palestinian protesters blocked a portion of the parade route during the New York City Thanksgiving parade on Thursday. New York City police were able to clear them from the roadway, allowing the parade to continue.
Later in the day, pro-Palestinian protesters then left makeshift bloodied handprints on a building in downtown New York City. Video showed several people detained by the NYPD.
The protests come ahead of an expected temporary “ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas nearly seven weeks after the start of the war.
