Watch the dominance of the Uruguay football team at the Paris 1924 Olympic Games before they would go on to win the first ever World Cup.
Uruguay was the first South American country to take part of the football competition in the Olympic Games. At the Paris 1924 Games, the Uruguayans represented the region in the highest fashion, with an amazing display that introduced the world to what was to come.
"La Celeste" had a fantastic Olympic Games, scoring 20 goals and conceding only 2 in the five tournament matches. Their 3x0 win against Switzerland in the final confirmed their status as Olympic Champion.
Uruguay would later repeat their feat in the Amsterdam 1928 Olympic Games before winning the first World Cup in 1930, giving it's Paris 1924 generation the most important worldwide football titles in the early days of international football.
